Winter Vegetable Puree for Baby

This recipe makes enough to fill an ice cube tray,
a jar, and a serving to be eaten as soon as its ready.
Special Note: If your baby is under nine months old, don't add the broccoli(it is harder to digest) and blend it until smooth.

Ingredients:
3 golden potatoes, peeled
1 broccoli stem, sliced, and boiled until tender
1 large sweet potato or 2 small, peeled, and cut into pieces the same size as the potatoes
1 butternut squash, roasted, and meat taken out
1 cup apple juice for thinning

Make It:
In a 375 degree oven roast potato and sweet potato, for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. Cut into smaller pieces. Put potatoes and sweet potato into the blender with apple juice, blend until smooth. Add butternut squash, blend until smooth. Add broccoli and blend until mostly smooth, leaving it a little chunky. Put into an ice cube tray and freeze for later use. Enjoy!

Plumsauce!

Ingredients:
Plums
Water for steaming

Make It:
Cut all plums in half, remove pit. Place them in a steamer basket. Put basket in large pot, with enough water to cover bottom, but make sure it does not touch bottom of basket. Cover, and bring water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat a little. Allow plums to steam until tender and falling apart. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Once cool put plums in blender, blend until smooth. For baby food fill ice cube trays and freeze, when frozen remove and put into plastic bags to store in the freezer. Pull one or two cubes out and thaw, serve alone or with cereal added. For kids and adults mix with applesauce or pearsauce. Can also use in plum ginger sauce, used for dipping eggrolls in. Enjoy!

Pearsauce!

Ingredients:
Pears(as many as you want to use)
You will need a big pot with a little bit of water and a steamer basket and a blender.

Make It:
Take the pears, core them and cut them into good sized pieces. Put the pot over high heat and once water is boiling turn down heat a little and add pears to steamer basket, cover. Cook until pears are tender 6-10 minutes. Turn off heat. Spoon pears into blender, blend until smooth, add add some of the water that you steamed them in if you need to. Be careful though it can get thin really fast. Continue until all are blended and smooth. I put a jar of it into the fridge for the week and froze a bag of it, to enjoy in the winter. The rest I froze as baby food.

I divided it into an icetray and put in the freezer. After it is frozen I pop it out and place in sandwich bags. At meal times I take out two cubes, defrost them and serve.
